It was crazy how fast he zipped! There was a small hole for a while and then all of a sudden it was getting bigger. My boss let me leave work 2 hours early but I was 5 minutes too late lol 🤣. My husband watched him hatch. I swear it only took him 30 minutes to push out. And here I was thinking...
He is still going strong. Not much progress. His little bill is sticking out of the a hole in the egg. I'm at work today so this is going to be the longest day ever.... I put a little baby camera up so I can keep an eye on him. I know ducks take a while to hatch. I'm so impatient lol
I was able to increase the humidity. My incubator doesnt have vents which makes me really worried. It has these 2 little holes on the bottom part but thats it... Its not the best incubator. Im currently playing duckling sounds in hopes it encourages him. This is a video I just took. I think he...
Omgg so he pipped but on the wrong side :hitits like the bottom of the egg on the opposite side of air cell. Is this bad? :( I'm so worried now. Doesn't even look like he fully broke though yet either
I'm going crazy waiting. I can't stop watching the egg. Waiting to see if it moves or something. Tomorrow is Day 26. When do they usually make the first pip?
I saw a tiny bit of movement today. I'm gonna put my little egg into lock down late tonight. Crossings my fingers this little one is nice and strong to hatch out <3. Day 28 is Saturday. Do they usually pip before day 28? I've read some pip as soon as day 24-25
They were actually set at 2pm lol. but only one out of the 4 eggs developed. I suspect the rest were not fertile. So I reaally hope this little one hatches with no issues. I candled this morning and the egg is quite full and I didnt see much movement.
Would it be okay to do it the night of day 24? since I wont have time in the morning before work on day 25. And do you put the eggs directly on warm cloth?
Tomorrow is Day 23. Can someone confirm when lock down is? Is it day 25 or 26? Should I put something down inside the incubater for grip? Like a face cloth? Any other tips?
So cute! Today is day 18 so just 10 more days! I really hope there isn't any complications and this little egg hatches successfully. My only concern is humidity right now. Since it's so dry where I live. So hard to keep humidity consistent
Yeah I've read they get lonely so I've reached out to a few local farms to see if any of them are expecting ducklings in the next 2 weeks. I just candled this morning and everything is looking great! Here's a cute video, I think you can see his little foot :love
