I have one that's a nanny chicken!

I may stray from Spitzhaubens to Sanjak Longcrowers so I don't have to worry about color separation. We will see. Just trying to cut down on flock size and number of pens needed.

My Spitzhauben and Phoenix hens all have spurs.

They are from Cackle. I have all three colors from them and by far the Chamois are their best quality.

I ended up not going with them. The site and some other things made me leery of them. I bid on greenfire Spitzhauben eggs, they will be a mix of the colors(silver, gold, chamois).

Has anyone delt with "Sweet Chicken Homested" before? I ask because they have a statement about being one of the only two breeders that produces SOP show quality Spitzhaubens. I'm wondering if I should order hatching eggs from them.

That boy is pretty! I can only hope. I've been seeing eggs for sell on ebay of blue Chamois, lemons, blue silvers, and so on. I'm thinking of getting some of those eggs if they are available next year.

I was wondering if they where more along the lines of how the red looks on a BBR Phoenix.

Has anyone seen a red spangled spitzhauben? Looks like Cackle is going to be carring them this next yet and they only have a picture of the babies up. The babies look like the gold spangled ones just I think darker?

So from Cackle my Silver Spitzhauben have good to decent spangled but the crests are on the large side for Spitzhauben. My Gold Spitzhauben have bad spangling and much better crests. Tempted to have my Silver rooster over them to fix spangling and crests now then work on base color later.
