    If the eggs they lay have good shells, then they are getting enough calcium from somewhere. They might be finding sources while ranging, and not needing the oyster shell as much.

    @U_Stormcrow The topic is calcium causing trouble for adult roosters. Do you have a handy link to some research, or evidence from your own experience? I think I remember that you did have something, but I've forgotten the details.
