So by this, I take it that it is never too early to introduce the grit? They aren't actually outside outside, but they are in the coop that is attached to the shed. I am finishing up the outdoor part/run, and then they will be able to get outside.

My chicks recently moved outside to the coop, and are approximately 4 weeks old. They are obviously still on the beginning feed, but I wondered if I should introduce grit/oyster shells to them yet? How do I do it....just throw them on the ground, or do I provide another feeder for them to get...
