    It's 100% fine damp. The bottom may never dry depending on your climate. The top will stay plenty dry enough.

    Not sure Scott. I'm guessing if you didn't dredge the ocean for sand it may be OK.I don't think I'd use sand at the shore line. But for all I know it may be fine.

    We switched to all river sand 2 years ago and we love it. The chickens love it too!
