I've got a piece of chicken wire, about 18 inches tall, across the gate that I step over. The geese don't try to get over it.

They seem pretty trainable to me. The problem with training is how do you communicate what you want them to do? Food is usually a good motivator, but mine like praise. I suspect that they would clicker train pretty easily.
