Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Yeah generally the SOP you aren't going to see until their first full molt at that 18 months mark for feather coloring. I've been fortunate with my batch of ladies from Meyer's. Even the Blue Copper Marans are beautiful. I'll try to get a picture of my rooster that's better but he is...

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Wrath is a wealth of knowledge here too. It is not uncommon for the BCM's to have some white feathering under 10 weeks of age. As their primary feathers come in they will shed the white generally. I had two that had white wing and facial feathers for a bit like around 8-9 weeks they shed. This...

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Thank you! They are very ready to get out of the coop but it's been so cold out and I haven't been able to build the run out just yet. Hoping for warmer weather next week to at least let them get some grass and hang outside a bit.

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

We got close to 7 inches of snow last night and it's turned to slush with icy rain today, but chickens are all doing well! The easter eggers are the personalities and the rooster which is a BCM is a big baby lol. This is almost 8 weeks :).

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

I bought two olive eggers in the batch but this the only definite olive egger now that I'm sure. Will need to see how they feather out in a few weeks to see who is true easters but you never know!

Happy Friyay! Chicken spam pics approximately 5 1/2 weeks. It's a chilly day in upstate but they are loving the coop and the freedom to roost on bars as needed. They still sit in a ball together at night. Some of my favorites so far are the golden cuckoo marans + black coppers. Best...

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Will try and post updates this week i missed their four week but will get in their five weeks. Most of their down feathers are gone besides the ameracauna who has a bunch of funny looking pin feathers all about lol. Really impressed so far w/ Meyer's so far with quality of all the breeds I got.

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

I'm excited to see what mine turn out this spring. I should get around to taking some pics this week I've just been swamped w/ work and other house things sadly. That is a very nice shade of dark brown. Also side note I think one of the grey's I have four similar colored (one is deff an EE w/...

@wrathsfarm What's the darkest eggs you have gotten from your meyer's BCMs? :)

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Upgraded the temporary brooder from the 100 gallon stock tank to a 10x4 cardboard box kingdom. I noticed this last week they were flying around and being super vocal so me and my wife spent time and upgraded them. They seem to be liking it a bunch and everyone has been doing super well so far...

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Enjoy :). Grabbed a few that wanted to say hi lol. The BCM's are seeming to grow slower then the rest but these easter+olive eggers seem to be the most social. Still trying

She has a twin but yes she's so sweet, and the most active/friendly so far. I really have been enjoying these easter eggers

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Got a bunch of pics to the ones that were out and about today. Everyone seems to be doing well today (crossing fingers). But here's some more pics as they grow. Tail/wing feathers are starting to show up on a few. I forget how amusing they are as babies with big personalities. Going to try and...

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Had one of the Ameracauna's being weak lethargic now too. Grabbed some corid and mixed the water and syringe feeding her now some egg yolk too. We had some people over last night and accidentally bumped the brooder plates switch off. So came up late last night to them all huddled in a corner...

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Sadly lost the white/brown chick (not sure what breed it was) as it was just a filler for the order. Believe it was coccidiosis and have started them on medicated feed just out of precaution. I tried to get her to drink/eat but she was already eyes rolled back and not wanting to care anymore...

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Omg I just realized on the packing label they comment which bands the chickens have. I got all the birds I was supposed to they just didn't label the rooster. Just for future people look at your packaging lid and look for what "bands" they will have. Hope this helps someone else in the future.

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Appreciate the advice. I couldn't remember when I added them in the past. They are already trying to perch up on the brooder plate lol. I believe that im missing another golden cuckoo as well. So I think they must have either ran out or something possibly of a few of the little ones. We will...

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Did some digging through all the babies. The lovely grey one in my hand is one of the EE/Olive Eggers (very sweet) and social. The one I'm holding for the black ones I believe is the rooster but I've double checked up and down and do not see a blue band and the only ones banded in this batch...

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

I attached my Wheaten Marans Roo (Montero). He was an excellent roo. Little bit aggressive but loved his hens and notable I had great success hatching his offspring 98% hatch rate over 500 eggs. To the right you can see Tam Tam she had very little copper on her neck but really great color eggs...

Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

Found this on their website : https://meyerhatchery.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010084611-Leg-Band-Identification-on-Hard-To-ID-Chick-Breeds So it seems they still do and even inside the box it has it labeled it looks like. Yeah they are slowly getting settled so should be fine to be...
