Nice dom @narragansett1. My Miner hen hatched 6 out of 6 RHxGrey crosses today:
Miner and Mclean Hatch
Miner again
Hatch/Claret
Grey hen, Hatches, and RH/BR
RH/Grey crosses
I hope to get Mandarins and Teals but I hope to get NPIP next year after I get them. Been there and done that with Wood Ducks but not my personal favorites they were just to flighty, just about the only way you could get me to get Wood Ducks would be some Apricots. Back to your question though...
Great advice from two great breeders. I've got pics coming up tomorrow of my hens and a few stag pens. I plan on keeping my number of birds anywhere from 25-50 birds in the next few years as I also want Ornamental ducks but plan on paying for them with some of the money coming from my other...
Nice. Never seen any with solid white earlobes but could be a throwback to the ancestor bird like you said. Or could be way back up the line someone had a cock with white earlobes and didn't cull him and this is a throwback from that bird,

That reminds me of a story my part-time boss told me. He said he had fallen asleep in the living room and at about 4:00 am he heard a loud boom from the bedroom. He said he shot up and took off running, come to find out some coyotes had woken his wife up and she couldn't go back to...
Gathered all mine up the other day. Big dog running around crapping by all my pens made me a little nervous.
ETA: I think you guys are talking about CadjienDeLousiana, he used to be on the Show Off Your Games thread.
I'm not sure if he's after her or after me to be honest. He usually hits her one time then runs at me so I don't know if it's cause of me putting her in there or because I'm there. I'm just glad he doesn't continuously hit them.
The RH I have he'll hit anything and everything including hens. The way I have to do it is I have to put him in the hens pen or he'll hit her. It's not a continuous thing but it's like he hits first and asks later.
Nice setup and doms. Do those waters work well ? I use a similar setup but my waters sit on the ground outside the pens and get dirt in them when the birds scratch all around.
The guy that posted it on another forum said that the hawk squeezed between his pens wire and killed a pullet but the stag started fighting it and the hawk couldn't figure out how to get back out.
