    Your call of course. My point was that a vet won't be able to tell just by examining the bird. A vet would have to send for a DNA test.

    I honestly don’t see how a vet can help. You can send off a sample for a DNA test yourself if you really want to know.

    Why not move the rooster into a more controlled environment like the garage or mud room if you have those or the living or guest room if you don’t. Away from any hens and rodents. I suspect that would settle it pretty quickly.
