    Oh, interesting! I thought that I read somewhere that lavenders had a different gene that affected their feathers. If I’m remembering right it kept the individual barbs from locking together or something which makes them fluffier. I might be confusing that with frizzles.

    That does look very similar to the one I have! Her feathers aren’t developing the way I thought they would to be a Barnevelder. I don’t see any lacing on her yet though. Meyers has tons of Eggers too so maybe she’s just another one. Gah, I wish I was a patient person. I know it doesn’t matter...

    I have no idea. She’s light brown with speckles. She definitely has muffs and a pea comb so she must have some Ameraucana. She has clean legs though so maybe a Welsummer cross? She’s my largest chick by far and my least friendly.

    Oh, I hadn’t considered Orpington to be an option! I’m not quite sure why. They do have blue, black, splash and lavender at Meyers. I think he looks a bit more blue than lavender though maybe. My son will be super happy that we have a boy.
