    To high of protein can cause problems. I have not personally researched this, but have read you would have to feed a higher percentage of protein than any traditional stage of chicken feed would provide in order to cause harm.

    With the choices you have I would suggest using at least some of the chick crumb. Only 15 percent protein may be contributing to so few eggs. It may even make the birds look for another protein source such as their own eggs.

    Too much Calcium is a problem that would build up over time. With the make up of your flock you would be ok to continue with the layer if that is what works for you. I'm not familiar with the brand you are using but most brands have the minimum protein amount of 16 percent. Switching back to...
