Probably not near enough for your climate, especially when coop is in full sun. I suggest you put a thermometer inside the coop to monitor temps.

I suppose it could work, but the roof extension just seems a much better option as it solves another problem(ventilation). Just make sure if you go the tunnel route that you make an access point for you to grab a stuck bird and that it is wide enough for 2 birds to pass easily side by side.

@DobieLover gave about the best(maybe only viable) solution, I don't see many others. It will also allow you to open up that side of the coop for some much needed ventilation.
