Ohhhhh, Sorry, I assumed there were older birds too. Might have to forget about the auto door until they are better at getting inside and roosting at the right time. How long have they been out in the coop?

How long since you integrated the younger birds? I imagine that they are still intimidated by the older birds. I'd suggest putting up another roost, a tad lower than the main one, and out of reach of the main roost. Pics of the set up my help here.
