Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

I get my duck & geese meat from the birds I hunt and kill, I am a big waterfowl hunter. I do only use the puddle duck group for jerky as the divers are just way to rank to jerk out. It's a cool thing me and the guy's have when we are in the blinds cold and freezing shivering our tails off we...

Another one of the more common reasons for the birds feather picking each other is their internal body mechanism's need for a certain nutrient such as animal protien derived from the most available source................. chicken feathers. Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

LOL chickens cooking for themselfs.................. good one. IMO the jury is out for me on GMO's, too much misinformation at this point. Supplementing their feed with table scraps is helpful in the way of limiting commercial feeds to an extent. I could get cancer from a zillion things we buy...

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Well with all the feed mills switching almost entirely to plant based protiens the birds are suffering, the veggie heads tend to think of their chicken bodies as their own human bodies and feed them as they do themselfs. This is a very bad thing because chickens are different but the huggers...

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

When we finish dinner and go to scrape plates we do it in a special big pot, and then the next day or so when I go to chore the birds I take it out there and scoop some into each pen's feeder, swishing it around with the feed so they don't just eat the good stuff but the feed as well.

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Salt in the amounts that were talking about isn't that big of an issue when you consider how many birds your feeding. Top dressing just enough to change the color of the feed. It works best when utilized feed in pellet form. Crumbles if done too much will become gumy if they don't consume it all...

Maven : Yeah this little trick is well worth the little effort, the birds not only look good but act better as well, it has more far reaching effects than just good feather condition doesn't it.
