    Keeping Chickens Free Range

There's good tips here for retraining a confused Rooster. Maybe you can try again, we did and are Super happy with him. I make sure to "try and pet him" every day.and grab him off the roost every now and then, and give him treats to show the girls, he does not come close to us. Edited to...

Welcome!! But just hating a bit, "In Australia on the edge of rainforest property" How lucky are you? Awesome to have the tree cover for topside predators! So fun when the chickies have to stand by while yard work happens.

Stinks but, I wouldn't let my chickens out if my back yard wasn't fenced with post and rail and woven wire (it was here when we moved in, people before had BIG dogs, lol Now it protects the chickies from wanderers. I only have minimal daytime predator pressure....too many people in and out...

Awesome! They look so good and healthy. Love your use of PVC. Hey, just a thought, please don't be offended... I can't see the rest of your yard, but around the shed and stuff looks like not much cover. Would you be able to throw a couple cheap shrubberies here and there. Mine really...

    Keeping Chickens Free Range

Interesting, trying to think like a predator I didn't hear a sound last week night/morning, just pouring rain on the baby monitor and figured, "well, nothing would be hunting in this weather". Yeah, fox got my pullets. I conclude they ARE wise to human activity, they have to be to survive...
