Water Heaters!!!! Are they really worth it??

I have to be careful with the ice that comes out. I got it with my snow blower last year and I nearly had a heart attack. I need to keep a pile away from where we clear out, so not to hurt my snowblower or myself. That ice flies... Could break a window... I need open water for the ducks and...

Water Heaters!!!! Are they really worth it??

I know exactly what you mean.. Stupid hawks.. I am keeping everyone in for a few days to force them to look elsewhere for food. It worked last year. Fingers crossed... Goats and geese allowed out, but everyone else is in the barn. Thankfully it is huge and plenty of room for them to spread out...

Water Heaters!!!! Are they really worth it??

I use light in the barn during the day because it gets very dark here during the winter, and no one seems to want to venture out far. My lighting is extremely safe (NOW). All wiring is done right. I was sure of it when they rebuilt. Make sure you have an enclosed light if you are going to use...

Water Heaters!!!! Are they really worth it??

This is the one I use as well. It does keep the water unfrozen, but I find it hard to attach the base. Either way, it does what it says. It can be around bedding. These waterers are meant for chickens. I do lift it up off the ground because shavings get kicked in and dirty the water, so I...

Water Heaters!!!! Are they really worth it??

Just be careful that you don't have any chicks around heated dog bowls, because they can drown. Otherwise they are good so long as the chickens don't dip their wattles in it.

Water Heaters!!!! Are they really worth it??

Yes rubber bowls! That is a good way to go. The ice cube just slips out and nothing breaks. In between changing it up, they can eat snow and won't die from thirst between morning and dinner chores.

Water Heaters!!!! Are they really worth it??

I don't recommend this. Very dangerous. I'm the fire hazard police. Could very well have been the source of orgin of my fire that burned down my barn. It shocked us a few times, and the fire Marshall told us how dangerous this is. Products MUST be fire safe when you deal with water and...
