So today is day 21 and still no internal pip
But I did catch the egg wiggling again so at least I know the little baby is still alive. I just wish she'd hurry up already! I wanna see what he or she looks like
I lost two eggs today so now I have 1 due on the 21st and 1 due on the 25th. This is only my first test run on my homemade incubator and so far I'm seeing that a lot of adjustments would need to be made.
Day 11 update: 4 eggs looking good, 1 with a possible blood ring but will keep in until day 14 or if it starts to smell. Temp staying between 98 and 100.8 degrees and average humidity (running dry) is 34%.
Welcome! I'm using a homemade incubator as well made up out of a kritter keeper, reptile heating pad and aluminum foil and wrapped/covered in a blanket. What did you make yours out of? This is my "test run".
Husband forgot I was incubating eggs and turned the heater on :( I woke up at 4am feeling hot, i got up to check the incubator and temperature was 106 degrees Fahrenheit! I may have lost those closest to the heat source :( I'll candle again in three days :(
What color sex links do you have? Either way the chicks won't be sex linked and the majority if not all your chicks will be barred because of your rooster.
My hens were under a Naked Neck, Easter Egger, Barred Rock and Sebright/Thai mix. The Easter Egger is the dominant roo and was followed by the Naked Neck.
Those eggs are so pretty! I have 4 eggs due on the 21st. 2 are from my Red Ranger hen and 2 are from my Jungle Fowl hen. So far three of those eggs are looking good! I may have 1 infertile. I also set an egg yesterday by my bantam Crevecoeur so this one will be due to hatch on the 26th.
