Found this on the My Pet Chicken website:
I think most people will think that it means to mix two tablespoons of the powder to one gallon, but it doesn't. The directions say to mix one whole bag to one gallon, then two tablespoons of that gallon per gallon.

Another from Gail Damerow:
Amounts of 1% ivermectin given orally suggested are quite a bit more than most vets would suggest using. Additionally, my ivermectin experiment suggested that 1% ivermectin is *not* water soluble.

The mfg suggests 2 ml per liter, so it's a little under 8 ml per US gallon. Not sure where Twin City got their info. Did your chickens drink it? 15 ml probably won't hurt them. :D
I wish that Twin City would show the source for their dosing info.
Having said that, I will find the data sheets...
The Denagard dose listed on the Twin City Poultry website is *wrong*. Will post more info later. This is not the first mistake on their site I have seen.

Can anyone confirm if this is what is in Gail Damerow's Chicken Health Handbook?
Should be on page 206 in this book:
If it really does say that, it's a mistake.
Per the FDA:
Amount: Administer at the 0.012 percent level in drinking water as soon as coccidiosis is diagnosed and...
Typo on the FARAD site regarding amprolium.

Perhaps FARAD should modify this page to say which drugs are flat out banned for use in food animals. I know that metronidazole cannot be used, ever, but the fluoroquinolone, enrofloxacin, can be used in beef and swine.

Can you all see how misinformation spreads? I'd like to think that a mfg like Durvet would triple check their data, but apparently they don't. Because of this error, most people have been under dosing their birds. So now that you have seen this, how much do you believe the other dosing info in...
Several mistakes here:

1/2 tablespoon = 1 ounce?
1 tablespoon = 2 ounces?
I think not!
And how did they come up with 1 tablespoon = 800 mg?
Each package contains 10 grams oxytetracyline, which is 10,000 mg tetracycline.
10,000 mg...
Let me start by saying that I make my fair share of mistakes and typos, but when I do, I will try to correct them.
Lately I've seen some of these errors in places that people rely on. For example, if you go to the Jeffer's website or catalog, to purchase a medication, do you assume that the...
