    Heating Chicken Coop???

I've never put mine closer than 5 feet from them. It doesnt have to be 60° underneath it. I believe 25° to 35° is sufficient to prevent frostbite.

    Heating Chicken Coop???

It's a hardware cloth door covered with bubble wrap for winter. My neighbor made my coop and used his old screened door which I put hardware cloth on. I guess I could screw a piece of plywood to it and hang the heater there. Thanks for the brilliant idea!

    Heating Chicken Coop???

They'll just be happier next time. I think they may all survive in cold cold weather without heat, but I don't want my chickens stressed and being cold is stress

    Heating Chicken Coop???

Don't feel bad. I just ordered one but don't have a good place to put it! There's a door between the roosts and where I was going to put it.

    Heating Chicken Coop???

Where did you put it? Is it above the floor so it doesn't start a fire? I have one of those but so afraid to use it out in the coop.

    Heating Chicken Coop???

If I put my new cozy coop heater 4' away from my girl's roosts, will it do anything for them? If I put it behind the roosts, I think it'll be very warm for the top birds and nothing for the lower ones. They are on a 3' wide ladder system, 3 rungs high, lowest roost about 12" off the floor.
