I'm working on remolding my hen house a bit at a time. One of the things that attracted me to poop boards was the additional living space it gives the chickens inside the hen under the boards.
Earlier on this thread some posters suggested using only a thin layer of PDZ to keep the hens from dust bathing in it. I'm currently designing as I build.
I'm slowly re-modeling my hen house which will include poop boards. Would using a 4x8 sheet of Melanie cut in half be worth the extra cost vs just particleboard and painting it?
This is a very old post on this thread that made sense since my coop is only 6' wide. 2' on each only leave 2' walk way. Any current thoughts about doing it this way?
No one has ever accused me of having cleaning OCD. But like everyone enjoy a clean coop. I clean my coop once a month or so (this is the thread for confessions isn't it?) and am planning a coop redesign. My question is to use poop boards or not in the remodel? Being in simi-mild winters...
