Sorry for another bad/stressful hatch. You say gonna have to cull flock. Do you think its a genetic abnormalities in the adults causing the malpositioned poults and bad hatches. Sending the best on your hens having a good hatch.

So any updates on the 10 that made it to lockdown. I have 4 of my lockdown eggs pipped this morning.

Had 14 in the incubator. 9 have made in to lockdown. All showed good movement. 5 that didn't make it died around day 18 as that was my last candle. So here we go again but I have a good feeling for these after previous batch.

Thank you. Good luck on your upcoming hatch. I will see if my luck holds out. I have a batch I will candle tonight then going to lockdown. Then a batch next week. And one I just set. Because a hen had 22 eggs under her. I left her 6. But my other hens are helping her out she is back...

I managed to get all 11 that went into lockdown to hatch. My best batch ofthe year.

I candled my first batch off eggs on my mixed pen. Started out with 15. Had 4 clears. 11 eggs made It to day 24 all had movement. Lockdown tomorrow. Hope my luck is better on 25 - 28 days. Thats where my losses seem start.

Sending good vibes to you. That your hens hatches all 12. I have 42 in 3 bators now. Have 3 dozen setting on counter. Can't make up my mind whether to try and incubate or sell as hatching eggs. I don't have any hens broody and bators are basically full. I have 16 poults left out of 150 eggs...

Hope all wo rks out for you. I'm trying this time to have one batch 15 eggs on a turner. And another batch 20 eggs I'm gonna turn by hand. They are in different bators but I'm gonna see if one hatches better than the other.

If hatcherys would sex them I might consider that option. By they are sold straight run. This spring for heritage turkeys was almost 15 dollars a poult from a hatchery. Craigslist in my area prices ranged from 8 - 12 dollars a poult if you could find the variety you wanted. Eggs to buy for...
