Olive Egger - Isbar x BCM

No the person I got them from doesn't ship and also she no longer has the parent stock so they aren't available from her anymore. Not sure where else you can get them.

Kinda looks like mine. The boys will most likely have white head and neck feathers. One of my girls is black with a white head and neck feathers too. These are pics from when they were younger, at about 9 weeks. girl on left boy on right.

My olive eggers have been very productive. They have been laying about 6 days a week. I'm going to be hatching out some chicks soon with my black olive egger roo crossed with a few different breeds in my flock: black copper marans, easter egger and olive egger. It will be interesting to see what...

My blue olive eggers are just the cutest things. Even when they are soaking wet. We've had higher than normal rainfall for the past 5 months in a row. Just put down some straw for them this weekend and they are loving playing in it. I hope it lasts for a little while before it turns back to mud...

Here's a better pic of the olive eggs, taken with a real camera, in a light tent and a grey card so the color is accurate. I think there's still one not laying yet. I think I want to try crossing with my blue and green easter eggers but don't have room for more chickens right now. :(

I posted this pic in the olive egger thread as well. I have another pullet that started laying yesterday. The eggs weighed in at 58g and 61g. Crazy big for first eggs. But at least they are olive. I hope the last one is olive too. I haven't figured out yet which ones are laying what. These are...

Hmm just saw @gimmie birdies post in the olive-egger thread that she got a brown egg from an Isbar Marans cross. I got a brown egg the other day that was an odd shape that I'd never seen from any of my current layers but thought it couldn't possibly have come from one of my olive eggers since...

Would love to see a pic of yours! My girls have started squatting for my cockerel but they don't squat for me. They turned 24 weeks yesterday. Maybe eggs before the end of the month! Will post pics when I get the first egg.

I thought the cross was black copper marans hen x isbar roo. But I think it's possible the hen could be a wheaten marans. That might be where the white is coming from. I was going to try to update the initial post and change the title from BCM to just Marans but doesn't look like it will let me...

Here's a few pics from the olive eggers first snow experience. They'll be 23 weeks old tomorrow. Their combs and wattles are growing bigger every day and are already looking pretty red. Maybe they'll start laying this month. I decided to get rid of my blue roo, Oliver and kept the black...

Not sure how helpful I could be there. I've only got the Isbar x Marans cross and don't have any Isbars myself. I bought the hatching eggs form someone. Red sex-links would probably look pretty different crossed with an Isbar.

Does your blue isbar/marans hen look like mine above? Was the roo dad isbar or marans? I am going to be getting rid of one of my OE roos soon because it's just not working out with the two of them. They don't fight with each other and like to gang bang my girls and someone is going to end up...

Thanks! I'm glad I ended up with two of them. :) I'll be sure to post some egg photos as soon as they start laying.

I couldn't find any threads on this cross. It didn't sound like a whole lot of people use this cross for olive eggers but I'm not sure why not. Isbar's are the only straight combed green egg layer and seem to make good olive colored eggs when crossed with a dark brown layer. Anyone else have...
