I'm sure this works but there have been incidental losses of poultry from using bromethelane in the past. There are chickens and dogs in the same areas as the rats. I'd need a solution that doesn't involve poison.
That's cool, I hadn't seen that before. However there are a lot of other animals in the barn. It looks like I'll have to just stick to cleaning better, removing the rabbit cages they hide under, and using dogs.
Which trap do you recommend?
I will put out a live trap once a month and get one, but by the next night they have figured it out. My dog has been the most effective at catching them. He gets 1-2 /night and leaves them by the door for me.
Ok. Maybe I need something less powerful then, because the bullet might destroy the barn wall and/or hit another animal behind it. Are there less powerful rounds or guns that will still do the job?
So there's a real problem with rats in my barn and after trying various methods (poison, traps, trapper, rat terrier) I'm ready to try shooting them. Can anyone recommend the best BB gun for this? Any suggestions about how to recover the lead pellets that miss, or safer pellet?
