I found with my Pioneers, that all of the roos had some barring. The girls were either a light red, or a buff color, with some black feathers thrown in here or there. I think the rangers are a more uniform color.
Not necessarily on the wait for eggs. With the days getting longer, they should start popping them out some time soon. Any signs of imminent laying? Combs, squatting, visiting the nest box? I love my EE gals, and my one EE roo.
