    Thank j She is a Chicken and will lay that egg...Soon too! Hens like home and if your nest boxes are soft with straw and shavings? she will use those. If they Roost every night in the coop with the nest boxes you will be so happy to find the egg in the near future. I think in about a week...

    Thanks for the advice! She will be my first of the ten in my flock to lay, so she has full access to the lay boxes. None of the others are showing signs of being close yet. I've gone on many egg hunts and haven't found one yet! I'm glad she is close!

    Im a first time chicken owner and I'm wondering if this lady looks like she'll be laying soon. I'm not sure since she is only 16 weeks old? I read to look for redness and increases size in comb/wattle. The photos were taken two weeks apart.
