No, They don't lay enough to sell extra eggs. Right now I only have 1 hen that lays and 2 pullets that I have raised this year. She lays only 8 or 9 eggs at a time then goes broody.
I will take some more pictures of them tomorrow and post them. Mine are like puppies and it is hard to get pictures of them. They like to be petted and get right up in my face when I try to take pictures of them.
Someone wanted to know how tall my Jersey Giant was so I took a tape measure to him yesterday. Then I took one of my young Malays out of their pen and put him beside the Jersey Giant to see how he measured up. My young Malays are going to be taller than their parents.
Here is a picture of one of mine I took yesterday next to my Jersey Giant rooster to show how tall he is already. The Jersey Giant rooster stands 27.5" at the tip of his comb. The young Malay stag is only 14 weeks old!! His siblings are just as tall as he is. They are going to be really tall birds!
I won't have any for sale this year. I just have the one pair of adults. I want to raise the chicks that hatch this year. I will have some next year if nothing happens.
Those were the first eggs that were hatched from her. She just went setting on 10 eggs yesterday. The first 6 above were hatched in the incubator. I also have some Malay bantam eggs set to hatch on the 15th.Keeping my fingers crossed on them. Got the eggs from Oklahoma.
Here are some of my Malay chicks. My stag is wheaten and my hen is red pyle. My chicks come out both colors. They are 3 weeks old. I just have the one pair except for the chicks.
