Candled and pulled clears tonight, I think I have 10 Barnevelder eggs and 2 wyandotte eggs progressing. Pulled only two blood rings. Almost all the wyandotte eggs were clear, I'm going to open them tomorrow and check for fertility.
The wyandotte eggs were my reason for incubation, the Barnevelders were just a 'just because" but I'm not disappointed either way, it's still early.
The wyandotte eggs are large/extra large and the Barnevelder eggs are medium or smaller, so that could be it!
Both breeds were packed well.
Candled all the eggs, about half of the Barnevelder eggs appear to be progressing, only 3 or 4 of the wyandotte eggs seem to be coming along.
Oddly, the Barnevelders look about day 4/5 and the wyandotte look day 2/3. I wonder what's up with that.
I have the maticoopx, and the eggs are some red laced bbs wyandotte eggs from egghead Jr and some silver laced Barnevelders I've been eyeing for a few years.
I filled a cup with warm tap water, my fry thermometer says 95,the zoo med says 91. I can live with that.
Edit, they're both lowering at the same rate as the water cools.
I salt tested the hygrometer, still trying to think a way to test the temperature. I'm hoping the incubator is fairly accurate, it's atleast holding steady.
