I didn't lap ours either. The coops are zip tied. My "shed" roofs - 1 wrapped w/ wire and the other with haystring.

I've found that the whole "pen" becomes the coop and all you need to provide are the roosts and the nesting boxes. We haven't roofed ours yet with a permanent roof - silver, metal tin has been ruled out though because of how hot it gets under it here in NC. I've had tin roofed sheds and barns...
