they will keep dying until you treat them. it's contagious before they show symptoms so isolating them is useless. if one has it they all do
Thats too bad. I cant get to the feed store untill friday Hopefully they will hang in there that long!
How old are they?
Well I forced her to drink 15-30 ml a day for 2 days. it's not much but by the second day she was strong enough that I could not force her anymore. I sent her back in with the flock. she is looking better. her tail is back up and she is scratching around. she still needs improvement on her...
I brought her in. and she still didn't drink even after the second day.... she is still looking like this
standing up too tall, legs spread apart, all fluffed up with head down mostly

If you can it wouldn't hurt to bring her back in. That way you can be sure she is getting the medicine and eating. Glad your chicks are looking better!
I brought her in tonight for her second go on the medicine. it's 2 days on 4 days off 1 day on 4 days off then 1 more day on, then...
well my chicks are all doing fine, but my EE hen on the other side is still tipsy on her legs, she is doing a tiny bit better. She had the energy to at least try to push through for some scraps today but hen she almost fell on her butt and she is roosting. I wonder If I should just bring her...

Not sure about the raw milk but i wouldn't remove the water. Just thinking if they don't like it much they might get dehydrated. Are they on Corid or Sulmet? Medicated feed is not enough when they have coccidiosis. The medicated feed is only a preventative.
Where can I get corid...
Shoot! things have taken a turn for the worse.... my chicks are doing ok. they are still hunched over and ruffled up on their second day of treatment
but I noticed a hen in my other coop all hunched over too. I brought her into the house immediately to isolate her. I sprayed the poopy spots in...

there is bloody poop, and death. this afternoon one of them was just lying on the ground fully alert. when I put him on his feet he was wobbly, still had function of his feet but couldn't stand up. i tried to get him to drink the water but he died within the hour. I am giving them...
We go to the store a bit late. but the lady was kind enough to let us in because we were getting medicine
So I mixed up their first batch of water and I took their feed away for the night. I hope they do ok.
on the label it says it's not for laying birds....does that just mean when given to...

We normaly use medicated starter too but they didn't have any when we got these ones as chicks.
I called the store and they have a bottle of sodium...(some long unpronouncable name) In Canada often times the product name is the ingredient name (at least for poultry supplies, haha)...
Alright. I'm heading out to pick some up. I was hoping since I already had some of that stuff kicking around I could use it
Will my dels still lay eggs at 6 months? I read immune birds are not as productive as uninfected birds
I found 2 of my 3 month old chicks dead earlier. did all the research it looks like cocci due to the bloody poop and bloody intestines
can I use oxytetracyline (sp). I already have a bag of it so if there is anyway I can use this that would be great
