Chicken Breed Focus - Isbar (Blue Isbar)

If I remember correctly mine starting laying about 1 week before 5 months old. She's a blue/grey one and she's an amazing layer, last month she has been laying more often than my 2 reds, only missing 1 day a week and her eggs are bigger. She was stubbornly broody for at least a month in...

Chicken Breed Focus - Isbar (Blue Isbar)

He sure is pretty though, just like my crazy aggressive one was...my blue isbar hen is only about 9 months old and she's been broody for what seems like forever... I'm hoping to drop some almost ready to hatch appenzeller spitzhauben eggs under her in a few days...She's smart though, she takes...

You'll love the isbar roo if you keep him...super intelligent and super friendly. My hen of same color (falcon is her name) is the new addition so she...

Chicken Breed Focus - Isbar (Blue Isbar)

Thanks for that great chart. Looks like I got lucky since I have a blue rooster, (dominant to the other 2 little guys - he's bigger as well), and a blue hen. In my case I will most likely keep the blue roo and blue hen and will get a nice mix of colors if these 2 breed...hoping they are not...

Chicken Breed Focus - Isbar (Blue Isbar)

Hello all, new byc member here, and proud owner of some super friendly clowns (faverolle hens) , a couple reds and some little blue isbars at around 6 wks old. Couple questions, does anyone know the genetics of color in this breed...do the blues (grayish ones) produce babies of all colors? And...
