I'm curious to see how a wire floor works too. Maybe you could wire the floor on one tractor and keep us posted? My friend had something dig under his tractor and take every bird. A wire floor could prevent that.

I wouldn't put a floor in it. I you did, you'd have to shovel the poo out of there on the daily. Just let them poo in the grass. When they get big,6 weeks or so, I rake up the droppings and toss them in the sweet corn patch. That's just to prevent killing the grass where they sat all day.

It should be ok. Unless you already have 6' lumber, I'd go with 8x8. For no other reason than roaming space. The farther you can make them walk for food the better.
