We also have 12 RIR's, 4 Ameraucanas and 2 Barred Rocks. If they even get close to the poults, Mama puts them in their place. :) -

I'm not sure if there is a set time to leave them out. I have left everything up to the Mom and she takes really good care of them. They go out every day with both the Mom and Dad and don't go very far from her at all. Ours are a little over 6 weeks old now and they all still nestle under Momma... -

Sorry I got sidetracked and haven't been online in awhile. Busy adding coops and outdoor runs, not sure why as the turkeys have taken over anywhere they want to go. They love free ranging and they are excellent foragers. :). Trying to upload new pics now.
