So glad to hear it! Thank you for updating us!
I found this next to my front door the other day. Not sure what it is, but it's been sending me messages of the "dead horse head on your pillow" variety.
I've found 3 dead birds in my backyard, and lost one 6 week old chick through some fencing. I...
I'm really happy that she seems to be doing so much better. They are tough when it comes to physical injuries!
If you have a ricer or garlic press, put the eggs through that, then they look like worms and are irresistable to chickens!
she may not be giving you eggs, but if you give her some, it would likely help her get back to laying again sooner :)
ETA: I mean, cooked, for her to eat lol.
You should be able to feel for an egg inside her by gently palpating. I believe the egg she laid was already in the process and was slightly delayed due to the attack. I wouldn't expect her to lay right now since all her extra energy is expended healing.
Opossums are naturally tree dwellers. They have a prehensile tail to hang from things, its really neat. They are marsupials and carry their babies in pouches, like kangaroos.
I can't remember what exactly happened? Was the door left open? I'm not trying to rag on you, if that's the case then I don't need to warn you that whatever it was will be back. If it wasn't a simple error such as that, it will be back, be ready.
