Just to see how it would work, we planted some kale and greens (mustard maybe?) in a low, large clay pot covered in chicken wire. After it grew up thru the wire we put it in the pen, they demolished it in short time!! But, they did not pull the whole plant up, in fact we left it in there hoping...
