    It really looks like a pullet that I raised. The second pictured cockerel is one that I hatched and raised.

    It looks like it is mostly Sumatra with a bit of something else mixed in.

    It's a high percentage Sumatra. Possibly a hatchery Sumatra.

    Very interested in this project! I think your biggest problem is going to be to get and keep the tail below horizontal. Free ranging various black breeds together will get you there the fastest. Get the lowest tailed ones you can find. Hens are pretty easy to get solid black, it's the roosters...
