    I made a pot of Boiled Dinner and canned 6 pint jars and 1 quart jar. I know they say not to can cabbage but I can't eat a whole batch of soup by myself and this way i can have it for lunches. I will see how it turned out this week.

    I had a cup of Beef Barley soup at a restaurant last night and it wasn't very good. Now I am hankering for a good Beef Barley Soup. DH doesn't eat much soup and won't touch beef barley, so I never make it. Anyone have a good recipe?

    @Mr Spot - That is a great combination- especially if you put thinly siced green onino in the sandwich. One of my go to meals when it is cold outside.

    Can I use a jars of home canned tomatoes instead of the 1.5 pound of tomatoes? if so, would a quart jar work or should I use more?
