hello...we are in the process of having our chicken coop built, its going to be 4x5 including the nesting box, just wondering if that will be comfortable for them?
4x4 coop big enough for 3 hens?

What breeds? Dual purpose breeds need more room, bantams need less. Nest boxes should not be included in coop space calculations.

The RIR and SLW will need at least 5 sq ft of coop space each and at least 12 sq ft of run. The Cochin will need 2 sq ft in the coop and 8 sq ft in the run. You will need a minimum of 44 sq ft of total living space.
