A friend just posted this on Tumblr and I figured, since it mentions chickens and you guys are good at this, I'd ask here.

The reason I saw need answer asap is because of what it says, that the uncle might kill it. Plus obviously to get it out.

I guess the main thing is probably just if it's poisonous.

I'll tell them myself but if anyone wants, I can give their blog name so you can do it

Looks like our Bull Snake if the King Snake family. Will eat eggs and chicks but likely more interested in rodents. Also consumes venomous snakes. Not a problem for me even with many hens nesting on ground. My dogs kill and eat the adults while chickens eat the hatchlings.
 
It's an eastern rat snake - will eat eggs, but pays for them in rodent control. :)

That's a really pretty one, too. Try to make sure the fella doesn't kill it!
 
Will eat young birds too. Has killed multiple baby pigeons of mine at one time and cleaned out a nest of hatching ducklings slowly over time. They are plentiful around here and are very sneaky/persistent about getting into coops. Personally I carry them off but think they are gross.

Good to know it's not a bad guy, if it can stay away from the eggs. :)
