So, are these black or blue Silkie hens?

I got these from a friend who breeds poultry and goats who'd gotten them for their child to do 4-H with. Child lost interest and so she sold them to me. She'd originally got them from a homeschooling family who had to get rid of them due to noise complaints (I can see why

). Two are one year old and one is 6 months. The 6 month old is a daughter of one of them. One more thing, these girls are in way docile when it comes to the other chickens. They don't pick fits, but if someone challenges them, that poor chicken gets a beat down. It reminds me of an old lady using her purse as a weapon while screaming, "HOW DARE YOU!". They have an air about them. Not stuck up, but prim and proper.

Are they black or blue? And how many light years are they away from breed standard?

The greyish colored one looks like it is blue and the other two appear to be black. They are not show quality and look like typical hatchery quality Silkies. Here are some pictures of good quality Silkies I found online.

I don't know why, but those remind me of some kind of topiary.

The lighter one is a Blue, but the other two are Black (albeit a somewhat faded black). They are a long way away from their breed standard. I'd like to see larger crests, more intense coloring, and looser, fluffier silkie feathering.

What is their temperament supposed to be like?
