Where do you get rice hills? Are they $$?
Sand in the night coop, in the morning I use a 'pooper scooper" to take out the poop, goes either in the trash or on the banana trees.
In the run I use dry leaves, it absorbs really well. Once I smell the slightest whiff of poop or urine I add more leaves. Its basically shredded to pieces or tilled in the ground. I have never cleaned my run since I started 3 yrs ago. Just added more leaves.
In the coop I add new sand every 2 months or so. I use beach sand and lately I found a pile of limey sand at a friends place I have been using I like that even better than beach sand.
