2 days ago we noticed our 4 month old Tolbunt was limping. When I looked her right toes were curled. She would put weight on the foot but more on the top portion while limping around. We brought her in. I looked at both feet, no evidence of bumblefoot and her feet do not feel hot. We do have a rooster who has started to do his thing...and he is kind of rough with the ladies. Anyhow. I have her in and been feeding her baby formula mixed with baby oatmeal, sunflower seeds, and chicken feed since last night. In the water we have been putting some distilled apple cider vinegar in it. She is eating great, drinking great, her poop looks normal. She is not acting like she is "dizzy" or wobbly, just hopping on her left leg more than anything. When she is sitting her toes are not curled and she acts fine. It is when she gets up. She will stand up on her left leg, stretch out her right leg and then seems to have a hard time pulling it back. When she does, that's when the toes get curled. If I straighten out the curled toes she will put pressure on them but wont put all her body weight on the leg. I am truly hoping it is either a magnesium level being low, she strained/sprained it getting out of the coop, or the roo was too rough on her...but I need some ideas. Her wings do not seem to be dropping or anything like that. She does use them to help give her balance but nothing weird that I can tell. She has not produced an egg and I sort of checked her abd. It does not feel swollen and her vent does not seem to have issues. I did not do a digital exam to see if she has an egg stuck...but she doesn't seem to be in distress and I would think she would act weird if so. This is her last week. We just took the picture because some friends wanted to see our chickens. She was fine during the photo.
