The second picture is the coup that I made out of an old horse run in shed and the last one is all the field they have

Your Scovys are beautiful that is the breed I have too. Love them. I like your duck house nice when we can make something out of something else lol I can understand why they would be reluctant to venture out in the open although nice property it really puts them in harms way. We have a Muscovy thread going here is you think you'd like to come visit.

Do you have good ventilation in your duck house? very important they have plenty of fresh air even in winter.

Oh yes I would love to check that thread out. And yes they have plenty of ventilation thats one thing I made sure of when I built it. And also just curious on how you set up the inside of your duck coup. Because I currently have edges they love to perch on and am going to sometime in the next week build actual ledges they could perch on

My Scovy's all sleep in their shaving on the floor I know some build roosts for them I just never have and they don't seem to mind at all. I have had Muscovy's over 11 yrs. I'd use 2X4's though so they can cover their feet completely when roosting especially if you get frigid temps to keep from getting frost bite.

Here is the link to the Scovy thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/130753/muscovy-keepers-share-your-pics/15550#post_15864918 see you there hopefully.
