Hello! I'm new to raising chickens, and started my flock in May of this year. I have 3 barred rocks, 4 golden comets and 4 australorps. I'm getting five eggs a day from them at this point. I'm thinking we'll be expanding the flock in the spring, so we're about to build a significantly larger coop than we have now in a couple of weeks.
I'm in central Indiana, and wondering what the going rate for fresh eggs by the dozen is here since we're getting close to having more than we will use at home. Any advice or input welcome....
Looking forward to learning a lot here!

Welcome!

Go to your state thread and see what the eggs are going for in that area. Have fun!

Its great that you have joined us and certainly no surprise that you are thinking of expanding your flock! Chicken maths is something we all suffer from

Prices seem to vary quite a bit so your state thread is the best place to ask. Around here they usually go for $3 a dozen. It's no way to get rich but it all helps with the feed bills
