Well this just goes to show me how much I still have left to learn about chickens! Now I'm kind of proud of her. Not that i wasn't already ;) I'm pretty pleased with all my ladies and gents.
 
We have a really fantastic, dedicated local hatchery here, and I am kind of thinking a nice email or letter is in order after this thread. :)
 
I would sure send them a note. The fact that all of us noticed she's a notch above ordinary hatchery quality says something about their breeding program. Okay, so her lacing's not perfect. The saying when breeding chickens is "you have to build the barn before you can paint it", meaning you should have the body type correct before you worry about coloring. Your girl has a great built barn, that's for sure!
I wish I had some pics of my former Wyandottes so you could compare, mine were regular old hatchery quality.
 
it's called fayetteville NC poultry chick dealer and hatchery. they deliver chicks. i will post up a pic of the rest of our ladies and our lavender orp gents. :)
