Only y one bird in this flock has this problem. Not sure what it is. If this bird needs to be put down to protect the flock please let me know. These birds are not pets. The are an egg and meat source.

Looks like some kind of abscess or maybe injury. I doubt it's anything contagious. It looks dirty, you need to clean it off with some warm water and a little dish soap to determine exactly what it is. If it's an abscess or infection or an injury with the potential to become one, be sure to get it as clean as you can. Apply a nice thick layer of neosporin (be sure to use regular neosporin, not neosporin with pain medication). If you can, cage her seperately on clean bedding and give her some Durmycin or Gallimycin in her water for a few days.

Thank you for the reply. I will try and clean it up the best I can when I get home. I can stick her in a dog cage for a few days. I will get an updated photo after I get it cleaned up for you.

Ok. Wife wont let me clean it. She said I was to post this to the the thread FIRST.

She said the "thing" has fallen off before and bleed like crazy. She is afraid to mess with it.

Still try to clean? If it comes of A&D? Still put meds in water?

Thanks
