So the story is a bit long, but I will try to be short
I picked up 4 chickens from local lady who grows them as sells tons of them, she has all breeds mixed, and I don't think any of mine were purely bred, except black Polish, who was killed by my dog on the 3rd day, after she layed us 2 beautiful white eggs...
So then one turned to be a rooster (started to crow really back and Ihad to take him back and exchange for a broody hen, damaged by a rooster, she is molting really bad now, but eating and walking with others).
Yesterday one of my "girls" started to kinda crow, this doesn't sound like a normal roo crow, more like pheasant cry LOL
I was told that she is a 1,5 yo bantam and was laying eggs before. I had her for a bit more than a month, but she did't lay any. I know that she might be stressed because of new home and death of her friend here, but she seems to be doing way better now. None of my chickens lay eggs now. She screams-"crows" around 7.30 am after sun is up for a while, and then is quiet all day long, making normal chicken sounds.
I have no idea what breeds are in her and her comb is confuses me (what beed has sommelier comb?). It is not red at all and has a weird shape. She has feathers on her feet and a beard. I thought she is some sort of EE and cochin cross, but who knows.
So my question is how do I know if she is a she or might be a he? Does this weird crowing sound points to roo or maybe she is trying to be a dominant hen? She is not very dominant actually, but I didn't figure out their pecking order yet, they are all friendly and do not abuse each other at all.
Any ideas? I need to understand what to do with her, because we can't have roosters, but if she is a weird crowing hen, I could probably talk to my neighbors and try to leave her here.
Help!!
(I'll attach more photos from my phone in a minute)
