They're so incredibly lovely, @BantyChooks
! What do you have in the bator right now?
-Alex
Woohoo!!!!!Thank you!
I have 11 OEGB mutts (regular size, just non-SOP color)
........And one EE mutt.. Oops...
All due 3/26! I can't wait!
This time is going SO much better. 11/12 have veins instead of 1/15!
-Banti
Woohoo!!!!! You're so blessed to have those OEGBs....I won't get my BBs until our local breeder's birds start laying again. Now I just sound like a spoiled brat, ha ha! I've currently got 24 chicks in the brooder plus 3 Isbars that we're raising for a friend, so we've got more than enough for now.

You know, funny thing is, I used (when we were new to chickens) hate anything that looked remotely different than my idea of a "normal" bird!I am! I love bantams, I think they have so much personality. They are definitly my "special chicken breed."
I love any breed that is bearded, muffed, crested, feather footed, bantam, frizzle, or zany colored... More of those attributes in one breed, the better!
What I really want is a SDW hen... Local feed store has them, but they come in a mixed bin with all the bantams together, so I couldn't tell which is which.
24 chicks, wow! I think the 13 I had last year was my limit, they were amazingly dusty.

You know, funny thing is, I used (when we were new to chickens) hate anything that looked remotely different than my idea of a "normal" bird! Fast forward a year or two, and now I love Silkes, Salmon Faverolles, Spitzhaubens, d'Uccles, Brahmas, and Cochins, which I pretty much thought were disgusting. Now I have some of those breeds (minus the Silkie, Brahma, and Cochin)! And guess, what? I think Sultans are adorable at long last, all thanks to you!
Not to sound dumb or anything, but I can't crack the code: what breed does SDW stand for?
