Rooster or hen

I have a 3 week old Silkie and I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's a rooster or hen. It's probably still early to tell, but just wanted to see if anyone knows. Thanks!

Silkies are extremely difficult to sex before 4-5 mos. of age and sometimes not till they lay or crow.  If I guess  rooster - that's all it is a random guess, so don't hold me to it.

Is this a hatchery silkie?

Hi welcome-byc.gif

Glad you could join the flock! What an adorable chick you have there love.gif I agree with drumstick and yourself it's way too early to tell yet on gender as they are hard to sex. The what breed gender section would be a great place to ask http://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

Good luck and enjoy BYC frow.gif

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. You chick is way too young to sex at this point. I would suggest posting its pic again in a couple of months in our What Breed or Gender is This? section and let our experts there take a look at it for you. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at http://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is loads of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.
