I have 2 roos that look like this. He is the smaller of the 2. Anyone know what they might be?

Ok. What breeds do you think are mixed in? It looks like black copper maran pics I have seen.
Unfortunately, it really isn't possible to make an accurate guess with mixed breeds. It could be a Black Copper Marans, but not a very good quality one. They should have much more red in their plumage as well as black and feathered legs.

Your bird is black with some red, but he doesn't look to have any Marans in him. Marans are large, heavy bodied birds with white skin. Your bird is light bodied and lean. I'd guess some game bird, maybe some brown Leghorn, but basically mixed enough no specific breed stands out.

I agree.

You say he "doesn't look to have any Marans in him." But the only difference I see is the feathers on the legs. He is the runt is why he looks small. The other roo is at least twice his size. The top 2 pics are from people selling Marans and the bottom 3 are my little roo. And yes he is most likely a mix but I am not crazy to think the similarities are there. And the hens that came with them are black with red feathers on their head & neck.
The only reason I am a little anoyed with the responses is that I read all over the place people speculating and just talking about breeds or mix possibilities but I just get a 'nope not that' and then everyone just copies the same thing. Yes I know it is a mix and yes I know it is a poor quality roo. He is half the size of his brother. I was just hoping to bounce around ideas.

You were given a pretty good reason as to why your guy does not have Marans in him. Both the feathered legs and white skin of Marans are dominant features. That means that most Marans crosses will have those traits, as well.
The coloring, genetically, is a partridge type coloring. But there are lots of variations of partridge type coloring, and some breeds have different names for it, as well.
He's got a single comb (a recessive comb type), so that rules out any rose and pea combed breeds.
Single combed, yellow skinned breeds, with partridge type coloring are Partridge Rocks, Welsummers, Brown Leghorns, and Barnevelders. He could have any one of them in his mix, but there is no way to narrow down exactly which one. It's also possible that he doesn't have any of them in his background.

That's why the response has been simply 'mixed breed'.
