Okay, so two days ago I found one of my newly bought Turkey chicks dead on the floor of the coop. Today I went out to find one of them standing in the corner, his head tucked into his chest. I had a look around, and there is blood in his poop. They free range, have plenty of water and get fed twice a day. And he was absolutely fine yesterday.

I only bought four, and I'm pretty certain this one will die too. What can I do to save the two that are left???? Help!!!!

Sounds like coccidiosis. I think you can give turkeys Corid, which is an anticoccidial medication. You might be able to get it at TSC or a local farm supply. Hope your turkey gets better!

I lost 7 poults this year to cocci. They were 6 weeks old at diagnosis and were treated with Amprol for two weeks.
It was heart breaking to keep finding their dead little bodies.

If you cannot get corid or amprol soon you can try giving them cayenne pepper, that has saved my turkeys when they had coccidiosis. Try to get them to eat at least a teaspoon each but preferably more, you can mix it with a tiny bit of water to make a thick paste and make that into pea sized balls and pop them down their throat, make sure they swallow in between. Hope this helps if you need it.

So By yesterday afternoon, without any treatment, he seems better. Can my chickens be affected by this sickness, if that's what it is?
